Who is Patrick?

Performance Coach & Player Development Specialist

Coach Patrick Daut brings a wealth of playing experience, instructional insight, and a contagious passion for the game to every athlete he works with. A former All-Conference catcher at Jefferson College, Patrick helped lead his high school team to its first-ever district championship and was invited to an open tryout with the Texas Rangers at just 17 years old, advancing through three competitive rounds.

With over 12 years of coaching experience, Patrick has worked with players ranging from ages 6 through high school—both as a team coach (10U to 16U) and as a trusted private instructor. His area of specialization is catching, hitting, and pitching.

“I like to keep things simple, introduce fresh drills, and create a light but focused environment where players enjoy the work while staying accountable.”

Coach Daut’s approach is centered around preparation, confidence, and steady growth. He gives players homework to reinforce training—whether it’s conditioning, recovery, or skill development—and places a strong emphasis on arm care, stretching, and recovery for his pitchers and catchers alike.

“Confidence comes from preparation. You’ve got to put in the work to be ready when the game asks you to perform.”

Known for his calm demeanor and direct communication, Coach Daut balances structure with encouragement, helping players understand the grind while still enjoying the game. Families consistently praise his dedication and commitment to helping every athlete become the best version of themselves.

“Hard work wins. This game is hard—but the ones who succeed are the ones who outwork everyone else.”

Though his sons have since moved on from playing, Patrick wasn’t ready to hang up his cleats—and now he’s focused on passing along the same lessons, energy, and love for the game to the next generation.
