Who is Steve?

Performance Coach & Player Hitting  Specialist

With over 30 years of coaching experience and a record-breaking professional playing career, Coach Steve Hacker is one of the most accomplished hitting instructors in the Midwest. A former All-American and Missouri Valley Conference MVP at Missouri State University, Hacker went on to play professionally in the Atlanta Braves and Minnesota Twins organizations—earning multiple MVP honors and setting league records along the way.

Known for his power at the plate, Hacker led the nation in home runs in 1995 with 37 homers in just 58 games. He holds the Missouri State career records for home runs (70) and slugging percentage (.728), and was inducted into the Missouri State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012. During his time in the minors, he continued to dominate:

  • 1996: Set Northwest League home run record (21 HRs)

  • 1997: Macon Braves Team MVP; led league in HRs (34), RBIs (121), and doubles (34)

  • 1999: New Britain (AA) Team MVP; broke franchise record for home runs (27)

With experience coaching athletes from ages 5 to 22, Coach Hacker’s specialty lies in hitting development—particularly in helping players understand their swing, make quick adjustments, and hit with power and consistency. His coaching style centers around observation, communication, and individualized development plans.
